One Simply Must Discuss the Podcast Golden Globe Noms
Happy Monday! The Golden Globe nominations are out today and you know how I know I’m firmly entrenched in the podcast world? I haven’t heard anything about any nominees other than the podcast ones. Were they even announced today?
Here’s more info on the podcast noms. Who’ll take home the statue? While I wish there were some more non-celebrity-centric podcasts represented on the list, I must say I’m genuinely excited to hear podcasts discussed on that stage. And, inevitably, for the award presenter to make a joke about how “everyone has a podcast.” We should probably take bets on that. And hey, Joe Rogan didn’t make the list. So, a win is a win.
Anyway, let’s get to today’s Plunge!
Are you going to PODFEST EXPO in January? Let me know! I’ve never been and would love to meet you.
Your Recommendations
Each week, I ask for your recommendations. Whether they’re podcasts that you host / work on or just ones you’re loving lately, I love reading about your audio finds.
Here are this week’s recs by way of your comments:
Rockie Thomas recommends this episode from Huberman Lab and writes:
I know, Huberman, top podcast, a bit bro-ish, sometimes crazy long episodes that get even too sci for me, BUT this one is just incredible as it relates to women’s health with defined actions every woman should do to ensure they are advocating for their health. Lots of “No Shit” moments.
From Florence St Leger:
I’d love to recommend my podcast, Sleepless Creatives Podcast. It’s a sleep and wellbeing show for people in the performing arts and creative industry, starting as a lockdown project and turning into a favourite among followers.
About his podcast, The Tone Arm, Lawrence Peryer writes:
We are an interview show covering “the people and ideas moving culture forward.” For us, this means musicians, writers, business innovators, and thinkers. We have won Communicator and Davey Awards, have conducted livestream and in-person episodes. We are entirely self-funded with a nascent Supporter program.
Now, it’s your turn. What are you listening to? Let me know so I can share it next week.
